Wichita Symphony Youth Orchestras
The Youth Orchestras Program maintains four active ensembles: the Youth Chamber Players, comprised of string students in grades 4-10; and the Repertory Orchestra and Youth Symphony, both of which are full orchestras made up of students in grades 7-12, and a Wind Ensemble, also for students in grades 7-12. The ensembles present two concerts per year (one each in the fall and spring).
The concert dates for the 2019-2020 season are November 9 and 10, 2019 and March 7 and 8, 2020. Tickets are available at wichitasymphony.org or at (316) 267-7658.
Each orchestra is conducted by respected professionals in the music education community and each family of instruments also receives instruction from a section coach during rehearsals. Students audition for positions in the orchestras each spring. For more information about the program call Youth Orchestras Manager Ann Trechak at 706-4167. For tickets call the Symphony office, 267-7658.
