SCIENCE OF SOUND

Students will learn what it means to be an acoustician. Including an introduction to the idea of becoming an acoustician in the field of science and technology. Students will also take a brief look into the companies of Tesla and SpaceX to understand what might be needed in the fields of science and technology when dealing with sound.

Luke Swearingen

Luke Swearingen is a local percussionist and educator. He has a bachelor’s degree from WSU and Masters in Music from Cleveland State University. He has studied percussion abroad in the countries of Ghana and Trinidad. He performs for the WSU Modern Dance Ensemble and has performed with the Wichita Symphony Orchestra and Canton Symphony Orchestra. He is happy to have reconnected with Wichita Arts Partners as an artist and clinician.
