Outreach Programs
An outreach librarian can visit your school or other community events and provide any of the following services for early childhood and
elementary-age children and their families:
Library Presentation: Explanation of library resources and library card. Suitable for family event. (20-30 minutes)
Stories: Theme-related read-alouds and stories. (Varies)
Parent and Teacher Education: Presentations on library resources, early literacy, and how to choose books and read with young children.
Booths: A table of library information at your community events.
Literacy Events: Involvement in school and community literacy and reading promotion events.
Summer Reading Program: Present to students on library’s summer reading program and on-site sign-up for summer camps.
Career Day: Talk with children about working in a library.
Books to Go Bulk Loans: A predetermined number of books can be brought to your program monthly to enhance your classroom library and further enrich your curriculum.
Child Care Providers: Quarterly storytime visits to area child care providers.
