MODERN DAY DANCE WITH DRUMS
Students will have enjoy a performance demonstration of modern dance and modern drumming. Two performers will talk and demonstrate the dance and drumming of modern day choreographers and drumming techniques. The two go hand in hand in most schools of modern dance. Specific details to Limon dance technique will be demonstrated and performed by Deiondre Teagle. Technical drumming will be performed by Luke on multiple percussion instruments. Students will have a chance to stand up and perform several dance moves in place.

Luke Swearingen
Luke Swearingen is a local percussionist and educator. He has a bachelor’s degree from WSU and Masters in Music from Cleveland State University. He has studied percussion abroad in the countries of Ghana and Trinidad. He performs for the WSU Modern Dance Ensemble and has performed with the Wichita Symphony Orchestra and Canton Symphony Orchestra. He is happy to have reconnected with Wichita Arts Partners as an artist and clinician.
