Denise Colborn: Dancing Through Celebration

Rob Simon and Denise Colborn explore the painting Celebration by artist Charles Searles through a unique and energetic blend of song and dance.   

Janice Burdine Thacker: Promised Land at 9th & Cleveland

This performance takes students through the history of the Kwanzaa mural and life at 9th and Cleveland in years past. Janice Burdine Thacker shares the history that inspired her art and the process she used to create it. 

Roy Moye III- Dr. Shirley Jackson

Roy Moye III sings about the life and accomplishments of Dr. Shirley Jackson, the first black woman to graduate with a PHD in Nuclear Physics from MIT. Roy explores the impact of her career and inventions in a fun and engaging way. 

Denise Colborn- Hip Hop Engineering

This performance blends song and dance with the exploration of engineering!

Roy Moye III- Dr. Patricia Bath 

Roy Moye III sings about the life and accomplishments of Dr. Patricia Bath, a noted ophthalmologist and inventor of the Lazerphaco Probe. 

Brittany Marie Thompson- Stepping Towards Success

Brittany Marie Thompson teaches the art of step and walks students through a series of energetic steps and chants.
