Experiencing Gordon Parks through Music and DanceExperiencing Gordon Parks through Music and Dance is an Arts Partners program developed in 2015 with funding from the Ulrich Museum of Art.
If you're looking for a fun way to tackle the difficult subject of civil rights and diversity, keep reading! This fun and active Residency uses music and dance as a way for your students to learn about the Civil Rights Movement in a non-threatening atmosphere. Students will learn dances popular during the life of Gordon Parks and will dance to music composed by Gordon Parks. Students will see the importance of diversity in our society and how different cultures impact each other in positive ways.
Program designed for middle school, but flexible for older elementary.

We thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful lady. She was able to motivate the students to try something new and teach respect amongst each other. She also chose age-appropriate dances for each grade level group. We thought she was amazing and fun!
