Teacher's Choice for Storytelling (for K-2nd grade)

Students are introduced to the art of storytelling using a specific theme selected by the teacher. Themes can reinforce the current curriculum, or any of the five character traits of caring, integrity, respect, responsibility, and self-discipline. Students will be introduced to and be able to identify such story elements as character, setting, problem and solution, sequencing, point of view and the creative process. This workshop can be expanded to allow students time to explore storytelling techniques and creation of original stories.
